At their very own press conference, Square Enix have revealed the next entry in the popular Dragon Quest series, the in-house developed Dragon Quest X. Surprisingly, the game will be available for both Wii and Wii U, allowing for cross-platform gaming. The two versions will be close to identical, the Wii U version having better graphics of course (we hope at least). Dragon Quest X will be an online RPG, allowing players to team up and go on quests together. The game will hit both systems on a yet to be announced date in 2012.
Additionally, 3DS support was discussed, probably in the form of character transactions, but nothing was officially announced. There will be extra DLC and some sources have even indicated that players have to pay “usage fees”. If this means a monthly subscription or something else, we’ll just have to wait and see.
